A couple of places for our event on Friday have become available. Join us to talk about sensory experiences of the ancient world!
Still a few places left for the Classical Collections Network's event on Friday 19th September, at the Great North Museum in Newcastle. A great programme of speakers! Grateful for funding from Hellenic Society.

Disaster averted on current article. I’m so careful to design my research around materials that are in the public domain and things I can guarantee access to. But still a reviewer can demand I use an edition of a 19th century source that costs more money than is in my bank account.

Once again, my carefully laid sewing plans are disrupted by the need to turn a cute fabric into a little top.

Today I bought a felt dachshund in a Christmas hat for my friend who wants a real one, joked with the salesperson that it is probably more ethical to get her one that is just for Christmas. Then I turned around and saw the irl version walking towards us. #TinyJoys

After years of being both careful and very lucky, we have finally caught covid. It is horrible. I hate it. Please do what you can to stop the spread of this misery.

Discovered this morning that this app has been hiding posts containing pictures of Greco-Roman statues from me completely. You have to log into the web interface and turn on enable adult content then you can toggle artistic nudity.

Posting this reply has reminded me that this is something nice I can do for myself even though I’m stuck in migraine Groundhog Day right now. Thanks, Bluesky
You can make a really nice non alcoholic mojito by making the drink as normal, but without the rum and switching half the soda water with ginger ale
