Scratch that, seeing your test responses in the other post it seems to be some much more fundamental problem. Maybe there's an mbin bug at the root of it.

I suspect the problem is that a CC to the user is not sufficient, but that the server hosting the community itself must be kept in the loop in order to then forward the comment to other instances. Your responses are received by those you respond to, but not by the hosting community.

Might be wrong.

If you want you could leave an hello world as a comment here:

This post is hosted in an mbin community, and I suspect the comments might have greater success reaching Lemmy as well. But who knows.

It could be that it has been fixed over the last month since this comment chain started, or it could be that it's a different problem with Bluesky entirely. I have no idea honestly.

It is a bit strange that the comments make it to Mbin, but not back to the original Lemmy community.

It shouldn't be necessary (nor does it work), and the Bluesky comments arrive to Mbin without problem. But I've seen in the past that Lemmy also sometimes struggles to receive comments from Mastodon, so I think this might be a problem with how Lemmy integrates with microblogs.

I did post it to the socialmedia community:

So my original post went through, but unfortunately not comments from BlueSky.
Social media the most powerful propaganda tool of all times. - Lemmy.World
Social media the most powerful propaganda tool of all times. In the 1960s you would say the same thing about TV, and you’d be right. Before that it was the cinema [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triumph_of_the_Will]. It’s not because the mediums as such are inherently evil, but they carry an inherent power that can be used for evil. There is, however, another element to it, and one that is completely new for social media. That’s the illusion that we can actually contribute in a meaningful way by participating. Nobody believes they are fighting fascism by watching TV all day. Yet, on social media, we waste our time shouting at clouds rather than going out in the real world to actually achieve something. We collectively tread in water as democracy dies, all the while feeling like we are “doing our part”. I participate in the Fediverse because I have hope that we are building something different; something that can derail the large platforms that are used for evil, and where the organization of actual opposition can be possible. I think it might be. But I am also afraid I am just wasting my time.

Made it to Mbin, but seems to be stopped before it manages to go all the way to Lemmy! Damnit.

Might be a Lemmy problem - maybe worth checking PieFed next 🤔

Other communities to check out, in addition to the State-centric ones, are !General for general discussion, !Brainstorming@50501.chat for brainstorming, and, of course, !Resist for a more general discussion of the resistance.

With apologies to the latter for posting this somewhat clickbait-y […]
