A probably little known fact about Flow that still blows my mind: There’s no compositing, according to @blender.org’s interview with @gintszilbalodis.bsky.social. What you see is a straight render from the shaders. A bit like recording a Grammy winning album with little to no mixing or mastering.

I was going for a 1930's cinema vibe for this Frankenstein animation. I used the HSV node in the compositor. Didn't even know about the RGB → BW node 💡 In any case, the realtime compositor was crucial, allowing me to edit materials to tweak tones of individual objects before rendering.

Here's how I animated the camera for this loop in #b3d

• Follow Path constraint along a curve
• Track To constraint using an empty object
• Since orthographic cameras (infinite focal length) can't zoom, animate orthographic scale to imitate this
