A lot of people say the ad business isn’t any fun any more, but I just listened to the guy beside me in the airport discuss capture management strategy and Blackhawk optimization for an hour and a half and I’m damn glad I’m still a working creative.

The cardinal rule for advertisers used to be “Don’t ruin Santa for kids.” These days, brands do it routinely. Airbnb’s new spot saying Santa can’t find you in a hotel is despicable. Just awful.

One of my “favorite” LinkedIn sales pitch tactics is the folks who pretend to have a connection. This salesperson noticed I went to UVa, so reminded me me of a wonderful tradition I surely connect with!
Problem is: this tradition started in 2001.
I graduated well before that.

One of my “favorite” LinkedIn sales pitch tactics is the folks who pretend to have a connection. This salesperson noticed I went to UVa, so reminded me me of a wonderful tradition I surely connect with!
