February 17, 2025 at 12:04 PM
There's no other way to put it: it's dangerously cold out there. We'll be stuck with the extreme cold for the next several days and nights! Make sure you bundle up!
February 17, 2025 at 11:06 AM
We're starting off our Friday morning with temperatures above zero for everybody! Throw in the wind and it still feels below zero for some.
February 14, 2025 at 12:26 PM
It's a lot warmer this morning than compared to yesterday morning. Some places are 30 to 40 degrees warmer!
February 14, 2025 at 11:29 AM
It is brutally cold out there this morning! We have Extreme Cold Warnings and Cold Weather Advisories in effect until 9 a.m. Feels-like temperatures this morning are in the -40s for some!
February 13, 2025 at 11:06 AM
It is another cold start to our day, but it is technically warmer than it was yesterday morning.

Some bittersweet news: I'll be leaving Dakota News Now in a week. I've been presented with an amazing opportunity to take a job which allows my fiancée and me to be closer to her family, and for me to move that much closer to my family and hometown. Let's make the next week a fun one!
February 12, 2025 at 1:24 AM
It is a brutally cold start to our morning! Actual temperatures are in the -10s and -20s. A slight breeze makes it feel like the -40s up north! Cold Weather Advisories are in effect in the south until 9 a.m; until noon up north, along with the Extreme Cold Warning.

Some light snow has fallen in Sioux Falls. A brief break now downtown, but more is coming!
February 10, 2025 at 3:42 PM
Snow will be developing later this morning and lasting through the day, especially in the southeast. Some areas could see 2 to 4 inches, locally more in some places.
February 10, 2025 at 12:35 PM
A Winter Weather Advisory later this morning will last through this evening along and south of I-90. 2-5" of snow is possible. After that, we turn our attention to the cold! A Cold Weather Advisory up north tonight until noon tomorrow. Feels-like temps down to -40 for some!
February 10, 2025 at 11:09 AM
Snow will move back into the region later today, tonight, and into tomorrow. The latest models are really cutting back on how much snow we could see. I'm still thinking 2 to 4 inches along the ND state line with most of the region seeing an inch or less.
February 7, 2025 at 3:22 PM
Good Friday morning! A few light snow showers are falling around the region this morning, but more snow will move in later today into tomorrow. A Winter Weather Advisory is set to go into effect up north for that time period.
February 7, 2025 at 11:05 AM
Keeping our eyes on that chance for snow tomorrow into Saturday. With the latest updates, snowfall totals look a lot lighter! Right now, it looks like most of us will only see a couple inches of snow or less.
February 6, 2025 at 3:47 PM
Temperatures are at or above zero this morning, but when you add in the wind, it feels like the teens below zero for some!
February 6, 2025 at 2:01 PM
It's going to be breezy today. A Wind Advisory will go into effect starting at 9 a.m. and last until 6 p.m. for parts of western Minnesota and northern Iowa. Wind gusts up to 45 mph will be possible in these areas today.
February 6, 2025 at 11:36 AM
We're keeping an eye on a storm system that will move into the region Friday night into Saturday. Some parts of the viewing area could see six or more inches of snow. Make sure you're staying up to date on the forecast!
