Visited a more modern bit of canal recently. Made in the now closed Butterley Engineering.

A long hedge of fuchsia I saw in Kirkwall, Orkney last year.

One of several.

Note on a newly installed telephone pole (for rollout of fibre).

Sneaky buggers. He is about 6 or 7 (rescue). Very demanding and knows what he wants.

This is him wanting play before the lights go out at night. View from pillow.

I had a short ride in this one on a training exercise. We also played tug of war with it winching a stretcher. It's windy under one of those.

I also have a handmade cross-stitch cumsprite.

My previous collie sometimes missed.

That was lucky, just got home from a dog walk just before very heavy rain.

Not so lucky yesterday, got caught in a thunderstorm and soaked thoroughly.

At least the water hating Cai got a good wash and his coat feels very soft.

We had a hedgehog in the garage earlier this year. Much easier to catch as you can imagine. Just not letting the dog get too excited.

The nearest I have got is digging in a cave. Flat out in a passage you can't kneel in. Hacking at clay and rocks with an entrenching tool and putting the spoil into a tray to be dragged off.

The pub afterwards was used to us, mud spattered.

Lo!

BTW the tools etc (note the playing card) are meant to represent all the trades and activities forbidden on the Sabbath.

There are also these funerary helmets for the Godolphin family hence the dolphin crests in the church.

Does she dig a scrape for herself? Our previous collie did. Liked to hide in the shrubs.

You would probably like the medieval wall paintings in Breage nearby if you haven't seen them before, esp Jesus at the hairdressers.

Like flags on lampposts, plastic wrapped flowers on benches, festering algae covered remains of cuddly teddy bears on graves with plastic flowers - all ends up as litter.

What's wrong with just putting a magnificent pair of boobs on things like the Victorians did, I ask you?

Cai says thanks, possibly.

You need a bottle of "Eau de Renard".

A moth caterpillar came visiting yesterday. I didn't have the heart to tell it that punk was over.
August 27, 2025 at 9:46 AM
No I'm not. He broke a policy and deliberately made a scene. Then asked to leave because he made a scene.

The steward didn't want to get into a shouting match with an obvious troublemaker. Sensible to avoid a fight or more aggro.
