We’re not seeing many people from Alberta or Saskatchewan in Montana lately. In previous years, they would come in droves around this time. Now, it's rare—maybe one or two every couple of weeks, and they're likely just passing through on their way home.
Canadian travel to the US is absolutely cratering.

He is going to say "pinky swear you will protect our border. And buy more booze and stuff from us. "

They will say yes. Won't actually buy the stuff. And he will declare victory

You won't be away for long. Most likely, you'll find messages expressing the opposite, filled with plenty of colorful language.
So ... I guess I wasn't an alarmist after all.

Authoritarianism has arrived.
if I understand American politics correctly, progressivism is something that requires 60 senate votes to work, while national conservatism doesn’t require any votes at all

It's simple to grasp, but the Republicans are after the money. Maybe next time their children, grandchildren, or even they themselves will experience the consequences. We can only hope!

A genuine and complete public acknowledgment of responsibility and accountability? What's next? Dogs and cats living together?
Goddammit. The Onion once again posted an article in which a portion of the artwork came from an AI-generated Shutterstock image. This article was over a month old and only a portion of the image. We took it down immediately. We'll be more vigilant. I'm personally sorry and I'm working on it.

I really thought they were creating a functional device. It's disappointing that they aren't. That would have been awesome.

If you can't get subtitles, watch the Disney dub of "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind." Avoid the "Warriors of the Wind" version, as its dubbing isn't great, even though I still fell in love with it when it aired on Cinemax.
Please recommend a perfect movie that will change my life. Horror, sci fi or thriller. No pressure

Time is money.
It’s crazy how a popular art form can suddenly stop having any cultural relevance at all, like mime or rock music

Dad, a commercial diver, always said Moray eels were some of the coolest creatures to interact with. Regularly diving at the same spots, he befriended the local eels by feeding them urchins. Eventually, the eels recognized him and would eagerly swim out to greet him when they saw him coming.
