Chapter 1 For the first time since leaving the Fade, Spite had come across a puzzling problem. The room he had been given had too many beds! Deciding to investigate each one, Spite approached the one closest to the door. “BED. TOO. HARD.” He growled and moved onto the next bed. “AH. TOO. SOFT.” He yowled in anger before spotting a third bed. He was reluctant to try another bed, but it had been a long day. Settling into the warm bed he discovered something he did not expect. An elf. Sleeping peacefully on the edge as if he’d been waiting for company. “HMM.” Spite inhaled sharply, “SMELLS LIKE. WARM CINNAMON PORRIDGE. AND ELFROOT.” Spite hated the other two beds too much to move and the body warmth from the elf called like a desire demon. Sensing another body nearby the elf turned in his sleep, plastering himself over Spite’s toned body. “YES. THIS IS JUST. RIGHT.”
