We’re just watching a race to see which bubble or Ponzi scheme or presidentially endorsed grift collapses the world economy first.
Newsletter: Crypto’s latest “infinite money machine” is the digital asset treasury company — a publicly traded firm that exists primarily to accumulate crypto. For a while, these stocks traded at hefty premiums to the underlying assets. But now, the trade is unraveling.
Digital asset treasury companies are running out of steam
Convincing traders to pay $2 for $1 of bitcoin worked — for a while. As premiums evaporate, an unwind could be painful.

Hey. Y’all remember Charlie Kirk?! I know you probably don’t, but quick refresher there was like two weeks a little while ago where political violence and death threats against politicians were treated super serious. I’d assume there will be lots of reporting now harkening back to that. Any time…

YouTube getting rid of the dedicated YouTube Kids app and allowing pure slop to overrun its filters in the main app is an excellent reason for every parent to drop it entirely, as @allisonjo1.bsky.social points out www.theverge.com/tech/824556/...
I’m officially done with YouTube Kids

It cannot be said enough how everyone that confirmed RFK Jr has endless blood on their hands. They should be asked why they did that every day until they acknowledge as much and beg forgiveness.
HEADS UP: CDC website now officially asserts that vaccines may cause autism.“Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.” Also says the “vaccines do not cause autism” header remains b/c of an agreement with Cassidy.

takes an unbelievable level of failed skill checks to be a loser if you're rich. you have unrestrained time and resources to hone any skill in the world and to verifiably support your local community but instead you're a selfish spineless blight on society. no excuse for it

I’m not usually a big episodic TV watcher, but the first two episodes of PLUR1BUS are pretty astounding science fiction.
So. What's PLUR1BUS all about then?

I get this a lot too. I don't use ChatGPT or any LLMs in my work because I want my writing to sound like me, not like the averaged-out voice of the internet. But also, writing is thinking, and thinking is a habit. I don't want to get out of that habit.
A friend recently texted me the same thing. “Do you really not use ChatGPT?!” It was a sign of where we are culturally on this. People are compelled to use it but also starting to question the normalcy?
Recently met someone who was very surprised to hear I didn’t use ChatGPT or any LLM.

I said my job depended on doing distinctive work. That was my selling point. If I started to sound like ChatGPT and turn out what it did, then how on earth could I justify doing it? What would that make me?
