Dempsey: No longer are librarians focused on collection management, they are moved to strategic questions around how and what to collect and how the ecosystem functions and how library resources should be distributed to meet institutional goals.

Libraries are not independent or stand alone, they are always embedded in an institution or society.

Library is always relational to their users and community

Therefore Libraries are not static, they are dynamic, constantly evolving and adapting to changing tech & user needs.

Fascinating exhibition at the Dutch National #Archives on the refugee escape of Isidore and Françoise Oznowicz, the parents of the Frank Oz, of #Muppets fame, from the Nazis in the 1940s.
They were puppeteers and one highlight is their Fuhrer puppet they used to make fun of the German leader
A photo a marionette version of Hitler used by the young parents of Frank Oz, Isidore and Françoise Oznowicz from. The 1930s. The puppet was buried by the couple when it was clear the Germans would invade Belgium. They then fled from Antwerp to Portugal, Morocco, then England before returning with the invasion forces to take back the continent from German control. Eventually they dug it back up. This is being displayed in an exhibit at the Dutch Mational Archives in The Hague

Damn, if this evacuation map is anything close to what the Palisades Fire 🔥 in LA will do, OMG, this will be insane. I never expected to see anything like the great fires of the 19th and early 20th Century in Baltimore, Chicago or London in my lifetime.

The new evacuation zones are at least as large as what has already burned. It extends from UCLA into the Ventura valley, from the 405 west to past Calabasas. An insane distance and zone.
