I live in Memphis. I saw a “Bygone Days” photo in the Commercial Appeal of teenagers who all owned ice skates and skated on the lake in Overton Park all winter. I think it was from the 1940s. I don’t know anyone in Memphis with ice skates. The lake in Overton Park never freezes anymore.

Same here. When I moved to Memphis in 1984 it was too cold for armadillos and fire ants. Now they are everywhere.

How do you get your archive?

I stumbled on a thread on Twitter where people who had lived abroad for a few years and returned said they were shocked by how much higher prices were in the US.

Oh, right, CashSaver is more your neighborhood. Out East we also have Superlo, which is also a little cheaper.

I switched to @Aldi for most groceries. @kroger is way too high.
