"I took this photo at Tanglewood Park during sunset. I was just standing there taking in the view for a while when a small group of deer walked out into the light. The timing felt like such a gift, one of those moments you only catch when you’re patient and really present.."

As we wrap up this successful fund drive, we'd like to say thank you to the folks who kept us fed! Fund Drives are a stressful time so even something as simple as not having to pack a lunch is a huge help!

Did you know that we now have text to give? It's easy, quick (especially if you use PayPal!) and right now WFDD gets a bonus donation of $100 per gift from our generous Public Radio Society so what are you waiting for?!

You can also still give online at wfdd.org/give

What's this? A new challenge??? If you've been sitting on the sidelines because you were worried that you weren't a position to give enough to "count" (which, for the record, is NEVER the case — every little bit helps!) then this is your day!

Today is the start of our 17th annual BackPack campaign! That means when you make a gift to WFDD your monetary gift stays with the station but as a thank you, instead of sending you a tote bag or shirt, our partner Kaplan Early Learning donates a backpack's worth of food to Second Harvest Food Bank!

"Our 17 year old Scottish Highland, Fluffle is a great, great grandma and is usually last as the herd moves around their pasture. We like to believe she is last because she stops to reflect on life, just as she is doing in this recent Fall photo."

"I love the classic, vintage look of this food trailer at the Carolina Classic Fair. While most other trailers have moved to over-the-top flashy LEDs and huge marquees, this one looks like it stepped out of the 1960s."

"House kraken" is a new one for us and we're still laughing! Thank you to listener Crystal Vandiver of High Point for this purrfect photo. We also got the scoop on Atreyu the cat! He's loving his new life and adjusting to his new small human friends with as much grace as you would expect.

Today is a historic day for public media. For the first time in over 50 years, stations across the country, including WFDD, will operate without any federal funding. We asked some of our staff to take a moment and tell us how they're feeling in this moment.
