You may find yourself living in a shotgun shack

You may find yourself in another part of the world (Seattle)

You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile (A Ford)

You may find yourself with a beautiful license

With a beautiful life

You may ask yourself

WELL? HOW DID I GET HERE?

Three (3) buttons and its one of the hardest things I've done on RetroCheevs.

God Tekken 4 is a stinker.

PLAY THE SPIRIT OF THE RADIO RIFF!

I had the right idea going for second show. Had to deal with my bank calling me and my friend but I went like $3 overbudget which I can live with, that's just cutting out a couple sodas.

$350~ for lower bowl, I'll take it even if its my most expensive non-VIP.

I forgot to brag about my retro haul!

Perks of working at a mail shop. Somebody was gonna ship this for an online sale, bought it off them for $100 instead. Very good condition box, all complete.

I still think about you

If you want a REAL ass-kicking workout album, Screaming for Vengeance is SO good. Hellion/Electric Eye is a fantastic intro and You've Got Another Thing Coming is the exact dadrock you need for a get even/revenge workout. Feels so fucking good to bust ass to.

Definitely blasting Painkiller next.
September 18, 2025 at 5:46 AM
needs no intro but man, Come On Come Over is so deliciously funky (Herbie and Jaco in the same line? Beautiful), Used To Be A Cha-Cha, Continuum and Kuru/Speak Like A Child are fantastic too.

Some metal, Dad recommended Turbo by Judas Priest more as an 80s sound experiment and....yeah its (cont.)

I haven't lost faith in my David Byrne tickets though. His live stuff is always better than studio. American Utopia is a pretty middling album and its one of the greatest concert films you'll ever see.

Alright, jazz records! Both very good but man, Jaco was something else. Portrait of Tracy (cont.)

Long since slacked on it. Huge roundup of workout listens!

I listened to David Byrne's new album 'Who Is The Sky' and I gotta say its....okay! There's a few good songs (What Is The Reason For It, The Avant Garde, got a good laugh out of Moisturizing Thing) but beyond that, pretty middling (cont.)

and perfected backing around a corner! I damn near had a breakdown after I fucked up the intersection but I got my composure back and nailed the rest of it. I'm super grateful for the wonderful instructors I've had. Going in to get the license tomorrow.

Oh and this is most definitely a subskeet but

Recent life thing! I passed my driver's test and I'm getting my license tomorrow!

I was super nervous and fucked up an intersection that I remedied with a safe lane change (I had to drive an hour to an unfamiliar area but at least I was in our own truck). Nevertheless, I did a good parallel (cont.)

Crusty but

Another workout, another album!

Ahh, good ol' YouTube-core. This and A Tribe Called Quest were definitely gateway drugs for me to get into jazz-funk and then later just jazz.

I hate to say it though, it isn't as good as I remember. Its definitely a case of my tastes expanding into more (cont.)

but it doesn't take away from how good Blackened, AJFA and Dyers Eve are and I think Metallica peaks as a band with One, greatest metal ballad ever made.

Another classic Talking Heads! Everybody knows I Zimbra, Life During Wartime and Heaven but give Air, Cities and Memories Can't Wait a spin.
August 31, 2025 at 4:52 AM
My god do I love that bass groove in Born Under Punches.

Ahh, AJFA. probably my GOAT album when I was 15-16 and it still rocks today. Idk if I'd put it over MOP/RTL but man, its damn close. Ik the production on this album is controversial but I love the punchy drums. Wish there was more bass (cont)

Holy shit, I've been SLACKING on my workout listens.

Here's what I've been rockin!

Remain in Light, obviously brilliant album. One of the most loaded first halves since Paranoid by Black Sabbath yet the latter half is no slouch either. Sounds just as fresh today as it did 45 years ago. (cont.)
August 31, 2025 at 4:52 AM
Workout album, Ride the Lightning!

Love how its a concept/rock opera album on top of just being a kickass metal album. I'm not even sure if I like this or MOP more.

I'm telling you, nothing like finishing back day, your arms and shoulders are sore, sweat's dripping down your front and back (cont.)
August 21, 2025 at 3:45 AM
Oh shit! Forgot to post my workout listens!

Two classic 70s albums, Breakfast in America by Supertramp and Point of Know Return by Kansas!

Gotta say I preferred the Supertramp album, its interesting to hear hits like Take The Long Way Home and Logical Song make sense in a narrative context (cont.)
August 20, 2025 at 2:29 AM
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages! The greatest comedy musician of all time, "Weird Al" Yankovic!

Growing up, my first two favorite musicians were Jimi Hendrix and Weird Al and obviously, I missed the boat on shaking the former's hand so I feel so grateful to meet Al!
August 19, 2025 at 5:01 AM
Aight, another workout, another album! Rec'd by my dad.

Toys In The Attic by Aerosmith, decent-to-good album. Its pretty carried by Sweet Emotion and Walk This Way but I like Uncle Salty and Adam's Apple on this too.

The only absolute stinker on this one is Big Ten Inch Record (cont.)

Reporting live from Auburn

Every bad thing you've heard about the White River Amphitheater is true and you've only heard half of it. Thank God for the merch stand lady that salvaged my VIP badge. The rain is pretty crazy

Another day, another workout/album!

Art rock/pop with afrosound elements? I'm there. Peter Gabriel's Melt is pretty damn good especially when you treat Intruder and No Self Control (In spite of how great those tracks are) as bonus tracks to the overall pace of the album from Start onwards (cont.)
August 15, 2025 at 5:42 AM
Another night, another workout + album review!

One of my favorites just cause I'm in a depressed/introspective mood and Maggot Brain always takes me away.

This is one of those albums where one absolutely godly track (IMO best fuckin guitar solo of all time) overshadows everything else (cont.)
August 14, 2025 at 6:49 AM
Another day, another workout update!

Got into real funky mood. Had to go with the best, Mothership Connection by Parliament. Holy hell, what an album.

The final track is the weakest but man, if this doesn't make you groove, you're six feet under. So much influential stuff on one album.
