Today I am showing a newer #vic20 release from Psytronik, Realms of Quest Quadrilogy. It contains the first 4 games in this series (a fifth has also been released) all developed by Ghislain de Bois. Released on disk they likely the biggest games ever released for the Vic20.

Todays title is Poseidon Planet Eleven by Hi Tec Software on disk for the Commodore64 which I got a while back. It is an average multi screen platformer released in 1990. I still seek many disk releases from Hi Tec if you have em for sale.

Today I am showing the #Commodore64 game WarGames by Coleco Electronics, ofc based on the popular movie under the same name. The winning move is supposed to be to not play, but still they wanted you to play this. 😊 Got a new minty sealed one for the collection a while back.

Another budget German Bit Star release into the #Commodore64 collection today, Little Computer People originally released by Activision. I am sure all from the 80s loved playing this early version of The Sims, except with only one sim, or two if you count his dog. 😊

Today I am showing a recent entry into the #Commodore64 collection, Gladiators 2000 by Happy Software, a label of the German publisher Markt & Technik. It is a simple Tron style game and was likely not sold outside Germany like most of their releases. I still seek a number of these large clam games.

Here is a big picture of all the flat plastic folder disk releases I seek. Please do let me know if you have any of these for sale.

Today I am showing Zoids by Martech for the Commodore64 , released in 1986, here in the disk release. It is an unusual strategy game that got great reviews, although I mostly remember it for the music by Rob Hubbard. I love collecting these flat plastic folder disk releases.

Today I am showing a classic for the #Commodore64 , Beach-Head by Access, here in the US disk release from 1983. A collection of 5 mini games where the goal is to take over the main fortress. For such an early game it is exceptionally good and set the bar high for many other game devs.

Today I am showing a Synapse and Brøderbund #Commodore64 game called Brimstone, a text adventure released in 1985. It is packaged in the form of a book which contains a few texts used to solve the adventure as well as many blank pages where the user can write their own notes.

Today I am showing a fresh entry into the #Commodore64 collection, a very rare clam case tape release of Archipelago by Talent Computer Systems. They were based in Scotland and had a handful of releases. This game is more commonly found in a small cardboard book-like variant. It's not a good game.

Today I am showing a new US tape entry into my #Commodore64 collection, Escape MCP by Comm*Data released in 1983. It is an arcade/maze program that clearly was inspired by Tron as MCP = Main Control Program (Master in Tron though). It's not particularly good, but an example of a US tape release.

A new disk entry into the Commodore64 collection today, Sigma 7 by Durell, released in 1986. Although it got average reviews it seems well liked by gamers. It even has a short tune by Rob Hubbard. I cannot recall playing this though. I seek Durell's two Big 4 compilations on disk.

Today I am showing a quite rare title by Infogrames for the #Commodore64 , Iznogoud (or Isnogud as shown on the German release in my image) released in 1988. The game is based on a French comic under the same name by René Goscinny and Jean Tabary. None of the major magazines reviewed this.

In these Indiana Jones times, I thought I'd show this new entry into my collection, the Commodore64 game Lost Tomb by Datasoft, released in 1984. The game is an port of the arcade under the same name by Stern Electronics. Game has mixed reviews from people, and the C64 version is quite rare.

Another Commodore #Vic20 title has been added to the collection, this time Scorpion on cartridge by Tronix released in 1983. It is a fun all direction scroller with defender like elements where you need to kill frogs in a maze like map and bring them back to a hole. Quite nice for a 16kb cart game.
December 11, 2024 at 6:56 PM
Today I am showing The Final Chesscard, a very special Commodore64 game as it contains a cartridge with a 65C02 processor running at 5 MHz. Due to this extra co-processor, it plays a very decent game of chess. It has 32KB of ROM and 8KB of RAM, but can't really work as a general purpose coprocessor.

Today I am showing a new Commodore #Vic20 entry into the collection, Bandits by Sirius, released in 1983. It is actually a pretty decent Galaga/Galaxian clone for the system, but Sirius is known for putting a bit more effort into their carts. I seek 3 more releases by this publisher.
December 10, 2024 at 7:04 AM
Today I am showing the #Commodore64 game Lands of Havoc on tape by Microdeal. It is an odd Sabre Wulf like game and the box even contains what appears like map postcards inside so they have put some effort into trying to make the game stand out including the fancy artwork on the box.

Happy #caturday everyone. An older picture of Leon is studying one of the many abandoned Commodore 64 games projects I had going on. Some day I hope I will get the motivation and energy to code on all these projects again.

In the Netherlands the publisher Aackosoft released a number of games in cool VHS sized cases for the Commodore64 . Here I am showing Alien, originally released by Argus Press on their Mind Games label. Although visually lacking, it was well liked by gamers as well as most reviewers (except C&VG).

This is Oil Barons by Epyx for the #Commodore64, released in 1984. I am sure very few have actually played this, as it came with a board game with many bits which you played alongside with the C64 game. From Epyx I still seek Death Sword, Sword of Fargoal and World Karate Championship.
December 6, 2024 at 11:29 AM
Today I am showing Lucky Luke: Nitroglycerine by Coktel Vision for the #Commodore64 on disk, released in 1987. It is a rather horrible arcade puzzle game in spite of it being based of the excellent comic of which I collected all albums of when I was a kid.

Looks great and I am sure it will be a very nice RPG. Seeing that Unknown Realm seemed to take forever to make I started an engine like that a while back using their graphics just as a starting point to see what it would take. This is how far I got with that. High res mode works brilliantly.

A recent addition on disk is "Call me Psycho" by Pirate Software released in 1988 for the #Commodore64 . The title is possibly the only thing that made people buy this as the game is a pretty poor side scrolling shooter. I still seek KGB Agent, Master Blaster and Operation Anoria on disk from them.

Sometimes you come across some #Commodore64 title you have never seen or heard of before, like this Mad Monty by Screenplay. It is a snake like arcade game and seems to also have been released for the BBC. This is not the same Screenplay company as the US one that did several C64 games.
