Spot on, George. The resignation was forced not by the overwhelming right-wing bias to BBC political reporting contrary to the Charter, but because they upset the #OrangeFelon and the #UK gov't can't allow that. We're in such a shameful and damaging period in our history right now.

Democracy means THE PEOPLE are sovereign. It means THE PEOPLE hold ultimate power to decide their own future.
The oligarchs don't want that. They don't want us to exercise agency. They see us as labor cattle on their debt farms, so we should enjoy the same suffrage livestock has.

Trump will have help from powerful friends. The billionaire-laden Dark Enlightenment movement (Musk, Thiel, Andreessen, etc) will pour its vast resources and information warfare capabilities into his coup. Not because they care about Trump, but because they also want to end democracy.

Trump only has 12 months left to consolidate power before the midterms. It’s now or never, so expect an engineered calamity of such magnitude that it’ll give him the pretense, and the public opinion mandate, to cancel elections and stay in power forever.
