Yes it is ridiculous. So many people our age are saying they couldn't live in or close to the inner city because of the cost when living there would give them better access to the actibities which would keep them active and involved in life.

Yes and only allowed negative gearing when there is not commercial rate rental income. Renters can't use ability to meet the excessive tents as evidence they could pay a loan even tho they are paying their lanlords mortgage. Ridiculous.

Exactly, my sister who is a working artist lives in a unit which is only 1 bedroom and the rooms are tiny. People need space to live, not acres but more than enough to walk around without tripping over the furniture.

But all the things that DID shift the scales, Civil Rights, Women's Suffrage, legalizing Gay Marriage, etc., these things required ENDLESS activation by groups of people who were committed to such a degree it is inspiring. More of us need to start seeing our place in the world that way.

So sorry to hear this. A country towns losing their bakery is a bad thing. Less jobs for kids learning hospitality and retail, mums fitting work into school hours and old guys makimg deliveries to local shops, cafes and servos which do food. And for the rest of us, no baking bread aromas, hot pies 🧵
