Difference between UK and other countries? In other countries houses are places for living, in UK houses are an asset class. And this isnt a new thing. Our legal system has been propping this thing up for 1000 years, whether leasehold (Duke of Westminster) or Crown land (Royals).

Utterly ludicrous. Foreign ownership should be limited, with property intended for rent only allowed to charge a set amount. And heavy financial penalties for resale within 10 years.
