5. lightsaber with a bleeding crystal is actually painful to wield, some jedi are just good at enduring it
6. crystals have personality, the younger adepts will likely not notice until their understanding of the force deepens
7. most 'natural' crystals in the new jedi order are hand-me-downs

2. all sentient crystals have an unique mark in the force on their own and the longer they stay with a jedi the more they "feel" like that jedi.

I'm not verifying if they are confirmed by canon or not since they are just silly ideas i developed:

1. the lightsaber gets built around the crystal's uniqueness, so not every crystal will work with the same lightsaber
