Solving #cat fostering challenges with #3dprinting!

I'm currently fostering a young cat named Chabi whose desire to live under a bed cannot be blocked by mere boxes or pillows.

Solution: Scrap parts from the 3D Printed shelving system (Printy Panels) I designed last year!

Been printing thousands of these (at least 5kg of PETG so far).

What are they? I'll get around to sharing that eventually :)

These will be part of a giveaway next time I make it to a maker fair or RepRap festival.

I've posted a requested update to one of my #3dprinted mini monster models.

The Mini Skeleton now has a 3rd pose: double pointed fingers. It's perfect for balancing multiple skulls at the same time!

While the #3dprinter farm is taking a summer break, I have time to try out mods without risking project deadlines.

I've been pondering the #3dprinting #etsy news for a while and those thoughts finally escaped containment in the comments section for @3dmusketeers.bsky.social's video on the subject.

I hope Grant is right and this rule will primarily be used as an Easy Button for DMCA reports. I have no interest in taking orders or shipping product. If this rule is strictly enforced, my designs will not be available on Etsy AT ALL. I DO agree with the rule about using your own photos. If you're selling prints, you should demonstrate how YOUR prints look. What quality can buyers expect? What colors/materials do you use? And beyond that, model designers aren't necessarily great photographers (I'm terrible at it). So create your own product shots that make the sale and differentiates yourself from the competition. Finally, I hope people selling prints consider remixing the designs they print. It seems more likely to me that Etsy will allow prints that have been customized/remixed by the seller, just like someone who sells restored antique jewelry boxes or similarly transformed items.

Zelda has been dealing with some worse health issues the last few months.

We're still working though it, but I was thrilled to find her hanging out at her favorite people watching spot for the first time in a while.
Zelda, a tortie-patterend cat with calico coloring, is standing on top of a refrigerator, where she can observe the kitchen.

I've added a few new pieces to the #3dprinted Giant Molecular Model Kit!

- The 1-bond atom now comes in a smaller hydrogen-themed variant.
- All bond have a locking option, for cases where you don't want atoms to rotate freely.

The fuzzy skin texture on the atoms gives them a nice soft look. With newer slicers, it's easy to "fuzzify" just the outer surface while keeping the mechanical threads smooth.

#3dprinted assemblies will always leave some sort of line where parts meet. You can try to hide this line or... embrace it!

In my newest container design, the spot where both core halves meet was given a chamfer to make the line even more obvious. Well, except when you print it in black.

The speedster printer S on Printables was first again with this customize Snap-tab box!

I was shocked to hear that he actually managed to open it after assembly! The print is in PETG instead of PLA, so that might have helped a bit.
