I simply sanded the doors first and set them up at comfortable working height "to paint later", and she walked right into my trap.

We live in a land of such food security that nobody had harvested the mirabelles, and even asked what in the world I was doing as I was picking the last few left in the tree that hadn't just rotted on the ground.

Combined with some slightly shriveled peaches, I turned them into 8 jars of jam.

Echo is just waking up from a nap so epic she's still trying to remember what species she is. She seems quite pleased to discover she's a cat.

Manchmal fragt man sich, in welchem Jahrhundert wir eigentlich leben.

A good day for tilting at windmills!

I like to bring the cats new smells from my walks. Lavender is a success! Hops led to hissing and smacking.

Callisto gives bombastic side eye. I have it on good authority that these are memeable, so have at them!

Post an unusual sign if you've got one handy!

Aha! I figured out why my sewing machine was skipping so many stitches, breaking needles & having tension issues.

There was lots of fluff in the bottom drivetrain, but removing it had made things worse - it was so compacted it had loosened the screws that hold the bobbin capsule, which was wobbly.

Kitty prefers her kibble over the canned food if it's served like this!

Yes, the same one she has freely available from a dish...

Anything for the challenge!

Very nice!

My attempts to machine sew knits are going so badly I'm hand finishing...

I couldn't find a nightshirt that ticks all the boxes: cotton, loose fitting, knee length, no scratchy or lumpy decorations, stupid slogans or large plasticky prints, so I decided this was my practice sewing project for working with knits.

There's even a pocket on the side I don't tend to sleep on.

They're definitely up to something. No kitty looks this innocent unless she's hiding something.

Today I am trying to make a skirt. Each panel is about the size of one helpful cat. I have now ironed the fabric three times...

She's certainly enjoying herself! Here's how it got to that state, back when the plant was big and the cat was smol.

I had a big beautiful bushy palm tree that my kitten played in so much it was missing nearly all of its fronds. I put it out in the hallway to recover but it hasn't regrown any in six months, so I decided she might as well get to finish the job...

Four weeks post injury, and you can see the effects in my step tracker. I was averaging 12 k steps and was on an 8-month streak of at least 5 km per day. Then the injury, a week of rest, a few days of "it'll be fine, I have errands to run", job interview spike, stitches out, it split open again...

Today in poorly-chosen fonts... 😬 And nobody noticed in the whole design and approval process?

(It's a pack of oat milk, honest!)

And so my goal streak for getting my steps in ends just before 250 because of a stupid injury. Oh well, I suppose it had to end sometime.

Anti homeless architecture is cruel and deserves to be banned, but I am borrowing its principles to get the point across that this is a plant pot, not a litter box, until the cat grass I planted for ground cover has a chance to grow.

Spring cleaning? Remember to defrag your cats so they will run faster!

Whoever drew the instructions on this bottle of glue has no idea how clamps work.

Today in "cats are toddlers", these two didn't want their breakfast because they were too busy watching the garbage truck.
March 21, 2025 at 9:12 AM
Well, yes. You could go to work. Or you could stay home and play with the cat, which is probably of greater net benefit to the world.
March 19, 2025 at 7:59 AM
I, too, have these two cats.
