A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.

I think we need to see more studies about the real and/or perceived benefits of AI in medicine.

My bet is that the hype greatly exceeds the reality, except for limited areas.

Happy to be wrong though.

The fact that AI will give you something that *looks like* an answer is a terrible characteristic of AI. The answers to most questions is not known (especially in medicine) and pretending that the answer is known is just dishonest.
😂 Generative AI grows mire Bro-tastic with each passing day.

[Note: Men are more likely than women to guess at an answer rather than select “don’t know.” This accounts in part for a gender gap in political knowledge polling as men who guess will occasionally guess the correct answer by chance]

The same applies to medicine.
Rich people will have human doctors.
Poor people will have LLMs
"It is noteworthy here that in all likelihood, the wealthy would still continue to receive high-quality personal instruction while the less wealthy would be taught by these potentially problematic LLMs due to resource constraints." — me and @samhforbes.bsky.social

They love to say it's a way to help underserved groups of children too. Extra scary.

Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.

This benefit applies for closure with direct suture or with surgical device (Atriclip) as well. The important detail to achieve electrical isolation is the formation of a transmural scar. So amputation can be done, but is optional.

For a surgeon who knows about the variability of LAA anatomy this is no surprise. Even after surgical removal of LAA , there remains a risk of thrombus formation. You do not withdraw ACO. Not all thrombus build up in LAA. The atrium has more folds and crests.

"An LLM helped me with some task" is not a good argument for these things increasing productivity. Did you also factor in all the cases where it made you slower? Where the output created extra work? And how much of your work/activity is that task?

„Value“ as in money saved, not in hard, patient centred outcomes.
FFR-guided #PCI using zotarolimus DES provides significantly better long-term value than CABG for treatment of patients with multivessel CAD, with equivalent clinical outcomes at substantially lower cost. https://bit.ly/47vJgJS
