I preferred the walking routes to the mounted ones because at least you could get some breeze or an occasional cooling spray from a lawn sprinkler. I'll never forget the kindness of the elderly lady who gave me a glass of her home made iced tea.

I worked as a summer carrier in '77 and '78 and I can attest to the fact that those non AC vehicles are absolute ovens. All the carriers have their ways of trying to beat the heat, but it is a losing battle.

I feel that way too.

I host the Christmas feast for my small extended family (<8). I make several decadent and labor-intensive main and side dishes. Everything is made with the goal of sending everyone home with days of leftovers. Does that count?

2/2 Turns out that you do get a larger, intact chunk of that glorious backfin if you do it that way. That being said, most folks take the big claws separately. Either way, absolutely delicious!

1/2 An aunt of an old friend was a professional crab picker from Pokomoke City. She insisted that you not remove the claws before splitting in half the body.

I never shuck oysters without one of those medieval looking metal gloves.

Looks tasty! I have to admit to being surprised by gloved cheese grating. Box-grating cheese and sealing ravioli edges with a fork are some of my earliest childhood cooking memories. However, my intention is NOT to mock you---to each his own. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

I vividly remember the tour of the cyclotron I was given while studying electrical engineering (in the late seventies). We've come a long way (science and women in science)!
