Here to spread word there's no better place than Rhode Island to explore historic cities and seaside New England by walking, rolling and transit!
If wind turbines on the ocean horizon were 100 years old the same rich waterfront owners complaining how new ones ruin the view would insist on preserving them.

Capitalists always be at war with each other except when they unite to crush any socialist experiment so they can tell us the experiment failed.

Does it count as a violent crime if the perpetrator was at the controls of a motor vehicle?

When everything is designed so it looks good through a windshield this is what you get.
November 6, 2025 at 1:07 PM
if the windshield is too tinted to see through, does the driver roll down the window and look out so I can do like the sign says?

POP honor system would reduce the former, eliminate the latter and maybe even collect more $$ because no expensive farebox tech.

Quick cheap way to find out who would and would not like to see him run for mayor

Stupid to try any of these without concurrently planning a whole new downtown- lots of homes and attractions- to anchor the southern end.
Splendidly isolated CCRI campus that most will still drive to, or an airport with fewer daily passengers than the R line ain't that.
And no hub at Park Ave?

I must be getting old calling for a free market friendly compromise instead of radical

You came too late to enjoy hating when the top dogs parked right on the marble plaza at the Smith Street entrance!
October 23, 2025 at 1:54 PM
Businesses will not miss the trade from cheapskates who would rather waste time than pay to park because customers willing to pay the going rate to park where they most prefer also spend most freely in general.
October 23, 2025 at 1:36 PM
In the absence of drivers inching along in traffic only because they are searching for free parking, traffic (including the buses!) will move efficiently. The environment for pedestrians and cyclists will be vastly improved.

You can push the button, wait for the walk signal and whether you get killed or not depends on you looking out for errant drivers anyway.

Wanna bet fixing routine damage like this costs way more than the RIPTA shortfall?
October 14, 2025 at 6:29 PM
@transit.app is deteriorating in other ways that are probably @ripta.com's fault. Sometimes I view the route map for inbound and see a bus a few blocks up the line that turns out to be an outbound bus! More often, there is no real time data at all so I must trust the schedule as in olden times.
October 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM
Do you want the app to think for you or do you seek information to decide things for yourself? In cities where I can text a bus stop's # and instantly receive a text showing upcoming arrivals at that stop I can figure out the rest and it's better than fumbling with the app.

make it say NOBODY TREAD ON ANYBODY ELSE

Gee, drivers are never asked to justify their presence on the road in this manner. When highway spending is the topic, every automobile trip is assumed to be indispensable to the economy.
