We demand a 10% cut in military spending, redirecting the freed resources toward tackling climate change, strengthening health systems, combating poverty, and ensuring education and social protection for all.

Meanwhile, German politicians are discussing plans to cut unemployment benefits and development aid—despite warnings that these measures will deepen poverty.

The manufacturer, Rafael, promotes the rockets as “combat-proven,” claiming they “can be used in urban combat.” We have already witnessed the devastation caused by Israeli weapons in recent months.

Every euro or dollar spent on Israeli weapons strengthens the capacity for more killing and destruction in the Middle East and beyond.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz had previously banned arms exports to Israel during the g***ide following massive public pressure. Yet, continuing to buy Israeli weapons will further bolster and fund Israel’s militarism.

It also highlights the government’s priorities: while €2 billion will be spent on missiles, only €200 million—just 10% of that amount—has been promised as emergency aid for rebuilding Gaza.

The deal exposes the hypocrisy of European leaders.

The €2 billion agreement is one of the largest arms deals in recent years and dwarfs the €315 million Germany spent on Israeli weapons in 2025.
