Getting a lot of "well we already knew this" and "are you surprised"-type replies to this. Come on now, we should keep talking about this, esp because it IS revelatory to a lot of people, and they need to know why [insert literally any federal agency from SSA to CDC to NWS] isn't functioning anymore

NOAA manages large ocean fisheries in US waters. Scientists there conduct surveys, sample fish, and run complex models to estimate the levels of sustainable catches. NOAA is recognized as a world leader in creating jobs, producing food, and avoiding overfishing. Kudos to NOAA fisheries!!!!
