I strongly underestimated how effective Andrew WK is at refocusing me and kicking me back into gear at work. 🤘

I’m proud to say that @noaa.gov and NCEI has released a 1 year retrospective on #Helene using ESRI Story Maps.

Here is a brief thread of how this came to be and how NOAA can still do good things (even while wearing pajamas).

What an amazing week at #nwas25! We missed our @NWS colleagues dearly, but those who were there enjoyed a wonderful time of connecting, sharing, learning and celebrating 50 years of science and service.

If I have any credibility with you from 20 years of reporting on rightwing & fascist movements, please listen when I beg you not to celebrate Charlie Kirk getting shot. Leave aside morality: this isn’t a match in dry grass, it’s a torch. We do not want what this could ignite & we would not win.

I remember a wise now retired NWS colleague saying we (NWS) need to be engaged with any group or technology that will help get NWS warnings and info communicated. That is the message for the weather enterprise I am taking away from this panel so far.
