My first post on Bluesky! Very excited to share our work just published in @science.org. We find that “Interphase cell morphology defines the mode, symmetry, and outcome of mitosis” - in angiogenesis and other tissues! www.science.org/doi/abs/10.1... www.science.org/doi/abs/10.1...
Interphase cell morphology defines the mode, symmetry, and outcome of mitosis
During tissue formation, dynamic cell shape changes drive morphogenesis while asymmetric divisions create cellular diversity. We found that the shifts in cell morphology that shape tissues could conco...

Huge thanks to our funders @wellcometrust.bsky.social who generously funded the project. Their long-term support for our lab has made this possible especially because the project started over a decade ago, throwing many surprises along the way!
Excited to report our latest research on new “molecular glues” that specifically lock the BRCC36 isopeptidase complex (BRISC) in an autoinhibited state and reduce interferon signalling. This first-of-its-kind approach could reshape how we target large deubiquitylase (DUB) complexes.

Molecular glues that inhibit deubiquitylase activity and inflammatory signaling - Nature Structural & Molecular Biology
The BRCC36 isopeptidase complex (BRISC) is a deubiquitylase that stabilizes interferon receptors, driving inflammation. We discovered ‘BRISC molecular glue’ inhibitors (BLUEs) that selectively inactiv...
