One bit of the dayjob that I like some times more than others: slideshow-building. Fun when it's someone who lived a good long life and there's a mix of vintage photos, happy poses with the grandchildren and a few daft ones in silly hats to make people smile. Not so nice when it's babies.

You don't have to like porn to defend it. There's not even much wrong with having issues with some types of porn... but you do need to understand that the weaponised moral panics around porn are not about porn. They are about power and control and the scapegoating of those with little of either.
A lot of creators essentially saying "My work might contain nudity and sexual situations, but it's NOT porn. My work is important and artistic, while their work is dirty, which is still okay to hate and censor." But guess what! The purity squad makes no such distinction.

I am sickened by the relentless demonisation of refugees.
No refugee underfunded a school.
No refugee closed a hospital.
No refugee took away support from the sick and disabled.
We need solutions not scapegoats. Stop blaming refugees and tax the rich instead!

I am quite inclined to take some of the Pride bunting I have knocking around and tie it around lamp-posts in areas where the flag-shaggers have been active. But not sure if it would taint the Pride flag/confuse people into thinking it's an endorsement of the weaponised red&white by the queer

About the best thing I can say for this site is that it has so far managed to keep the bots way down. Thr**ds is getting worse and worse in terms of being flooded with christofascists, foetus worshippers, racists and the anti-trans crazies.

If I had any kind of step-counting device (which I don't, because I refuse to pay money for an electronic Cartman) it would probably have melted today. Bus complications meant a walk of about a mile to start the day, and then this evening's bout of 'FINE if no one else can do it then I'll do it

I still ache in various places, and today was frazzled but less awful than I was worrying it might be (the Big Mistake I thought I might have made is not only salvageable but already salvaged)...

Sometimes doing a good deed gets a reward, not in heaven (if there is any such location) but right here. In other words, a grateful client gave me a bottle of EXTREMELY nice Romanian wine.

I have been moderately productive today and intend to be moderately more so this evening. Possibly due to accepting that I am going to remain horribly overworked for a while but there IS a path out of the situation.
