This was a big difference between my kid's school in Asheville (stay in car pick up) versus their school in Boulder (find parking then stand around and wait). I only met one set of parents in NC. Know the parents better than the kids in Boulder. Big difference in school community.
Folks who’ve exclusively done school pickup by car may not know about the social aspect they miss in the car line.
Chatting with other parents while waiting for our kids allows me to get to know & build trust w/ my neighbors.
I know that happens at bus stops, too!
