I concur. 💯

Read Steve Ladeck’s analysis for a fuller explanation of the likeliest explanation as to why Justice Jackson issued the administrative stay in the SNAP case:

Starting in 2 days, a lot of people are going to be losing money they need to buy food. I am one of those people. I don't need anything myself because I have some extra food and spare cash, but if you read this and are able, please donate to your local food pantry. Money is best, anything helps.

If you're a writer/other creator in the United States, consider creating an LLC for your business and then signing up for a local area Chamber of Commerce. Many of them have health insurance plans that pool their members and members of other CoCs to create insurance efficiencies relative to ACA.

I've been watching a series called "History's Verdict" on Magellan streaming, which talks about various leaders during WWII. It's been very good in covering other leaders, but doesn't even mention Japanese internment camps in the show about Roosevelt. I was very surprised.

Data centers: why do they raise electricity prices? Bill the centers for what they use. I know it's a problem here in central Ohio but my brain's not firing on all neurons these days. Are residents subsidizing these centers?

It replaces the consent of the governed with decisions made over their heads by leaders of other polities - one a faltering democracy, the other a terrorist regime

This is a really great essay on AI's effect on writing and how one professor approached it in his writing class. I have been writing most of my life and have always considered AI a bad tool for this job; the article was eye opening and also verifying.

This article seems to have solid evidence, but the company also had forgotten that if you make a lot of gold, the price will plummet. Am I missing something here? I'm not firing on all neurons these days.
Nuclear fusion reactors can turn mercury into gold, US firm claims
As per the company's claims, making gold from mercury is possible, and nuclear fusion will play a key role in the process.

A BRIEF socialological and cultural modern history of the US region of Appalachia.

There is a reason this history is suppressed. It is inconvenient to the revisionist historical narratives of the wealthy and powerful.

Learning this (my) history opened my eyes.

A (probably very long) thread. 🧵

Tonight, parents are mourning. I know people want to say the ones who voted for Abbot and 47 deserve it. This is why we all have to continue to show empathy. No one should have to bury their child. Let's hope they remember or learn how this tragedy happened and vote accordingly.
Children do not deserve to die because of choices the adults in their lives made.
Children should run through backyard sprinklers, get slobberz from a puppy, or make dandelion wishes.
To say that their parents or families deserve to experience this profound loss is wrong & uncalled for.

Oh, and everyone should see this. There is more the same about us than there is different - at least, I hope so. There's been a lot of brainwashing out there, but we all want what's best for our families/loved ones.
