I was watching a documentary & saw a balloon release. There was uplifting dialogue & music about how magical it was to waste a limited resource, helium, and kill animals on land and at sea when those damn balloons came back down to the ground. Please do not release helium balloons! Balloonsblow.org

Gentle reminder that when you use a service like Uber or Instacart, they might provide the platform and keep almost all of the money, but they are NOTHING without people to do the actual service. The companies will spend millions to avoid giving employee benefits to those people!

Once you understand that a driving principle of American politics is there is no such thing as a compassionate solution that's cheap enough or a cruel solution that's too expensive, a lot of things click into place.
I think it's possible that Trump's illegal invasion of DC will really in some sense "get rid of the tents." If that happens, elite commentators will rush to praise him and attribute it to the effectiveness of cruelty, and not to the fact that they spent millions of dollars per tent cleared.
