Not quite GenX, not quite Millennial. Minnesota Nice. Eternal optimist. ✌️❤️
I heard something on Mel Robbins’ podcast that totally resonated: most people have the emotional maturity of 8 year olds, and they have to make the decision to learn to evolve their emotions. This makes so much sense & is what I’ve observed in my 47 years. Also means my 8 year old is totally normal.

Crickets in the media as the economy nose dives.

The video game industry appears to be where it’s at: just 3 Fortnite subscriptions for a year is almost $500. I could buy an oven for that. As long as they’re having fun, right?

The process of seeing Phish is incredibly stressful: be prepared to throw down large amounts of money within a week’s notice for an event 4 months out requiring travel, childcare, anything else that may arise between now and then. How do people do this year after year after year?

I am shocked, even though I shouldn’t be, at how many people are totally ok with the giant POS running the country right now

Sorry retailers but 25% off is not a deal I’m busting the internet doors over. Do better.

His game plan all along, as many of us knew, was to get in on the drug trade. Far too much money to pass up. Concern for Americans has zero to do with anything that orange toad does. Can’t believe so many people voted for him!
“Ah, just one more thing, sir. You’re blowing up those boats, saying they’re filled with drugs headed for the US. But then you go and pardon the guy who brought in 400 tons of cocaine. That’s billions of doses. Help me understand that.”

The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

Let’s not forget this. Let’s not forget how the response to this compares to the current response in DC.
This is the first Thanksgiving for Sophie & Colin Hortman without their parents, Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and Mark Hortman who were assassinated along with the family dog in an act of political murder. National guards troops were not deployed to the state in response.

Thanksgiving observation: there are two types of cooks in the kitchen. Those who make sure everyone else knows what they are doing and understand their sacrifice, and those who just do it, so that when they are cooking everyone is like “where is so and so?”

Holiday pro tip: skip the fighting, bickering, blaming, etc. because it’s dumb and leads to nothing but annoyance. If things don’t go the way you planned take breath and whisper “Que sera, sera.” Don’t sweat the small stuff when there’s enough big stuff going on in the world. Enjoy the day!

I do not understand how people have pets. I get the why, but not the how. I can barely tolerate lint from a blanket. Pet hair on a regular basis? The horror!

In America, kids get shot and killed in their schools all the time, and nothing significant happens. Two national guardsmen get shot at (a risk of the position) and Trump orders 500 more to DC. Not saying any shooting is ok, but this doesn’t sit right.

I can’t believe how expensive being a normal middle class family of 4 is in Trump’s America.

This.
This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

I bought an EV this year and couldn’t be happier. Not having to spend $ on gas is awesome. The energy cost is far less. Sure, I have to remember to charge it and can’t drive across the country without being inconvenienced but thankfully I need to drive across the country never.

Best advice heard in awhile: if you’re feeling crabby, eat something before opening your mouth. Odds are you’re hungry and not really an a-hole

Reminder as we head into holiday gift giving season: we all have enough of everything already.

Learned a long time ago not to bite the hand that feeds you. Gratitude is the only response to someone making you a meal, even if it’s a frozen pizza.

How I think of every person who voted for Trump. The only way to free yourself of my judgement is to apologize and admit you were wrong, and even then it will be a slow road to recovery.
