Do we live in an oligarchy or an actual corpocracy? Does anyone care?

This is my backup social media account.
I'd never thought I'd be writing these splashy and angry tirades.

I certainly wouldn't be able to do this in Russia or China. In Burma or whatever the fuck that dumb country is called now, they drag activists out onto the street, usually conduct a quick unofficial trial, and shoot them right there.

Fuck Donald Trump. Here's a real never-Trumper & former justice of the peace telling POTUS to fuck all the way off!

We need more white, bald-headed legal and political people to weigh in here.

HEY CHUCK SCHUMER — Kindly step down from your Minority Leader position.

Here's something that the Brits could have done during "The Coalition of the willing" — the second Iraq War.

That didn't happen thanks to Tony Blair and Foreign Secretary Jack Straw — two of the biggest British sellouts over Halliburton's oil energy companies wanting to exploit Iraq, post-invasion.

I think DHS and their paramilitary #ICE agency picked Lincoln County ( #Newport in coastal #Oregon ) for an ICE facility because the county, like Benton County where I reside has really dumb public officials who entertain bad notions from federal officials while somehow remaining ambivalent. /1

I was at the Oregon State University Women's Basketball game vs. the Air Force tonight.

After the pledge of allegiance, I involuntarily (without really thinking about it) cussed out Donald Trump.

It pissed off the nearest MAGA spectator, who scowled at me.

I left ... didn't feel like hanging out.

I noticed that Seth Abramson's Traitorous Eight did not catch on.

Most commoners reading US media have already forgotten what it was that the rabble rousers were trying to keep in place. COVID-era subsidies? Were they that good to begin with? The US media rarely delves into historical anecdotes. /1

A few days ago I was shopping around for private healthcare plans in the state of #Oregon.

I found out that that #Aetna crap healthcare subsidiary, First Health PPO, offers lower-level or bronze plans that are essentially worthless to Oregon payers. /1

It’s funny all of the misfits and people who never fit in are leading the charge to reform federal government

I identify Pete as a misfit bc he’s gay. Really, his reasoning here is excellent and echoes that of other activists.

WaPo's revisionist interpretations of Congressional history. It was the Grand Old Fascist Party who told Democrats their way or not at all. Schumer kowtowed by putting ineffectual senators like Kaine in front of this. Now the media lies over who's responsible:

What's wrong with our country? Why can't we get a win?

MAGA is just litigious. Whoever brought forward this lawsuit in MS is a total piece of shit. Hey MAGA, do you know what others used to do in the presence of America First people? Hit them or spit on them.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

I'm sort of "to the left" of MSW — however I agree 100% with her views here.

This is a betrayal. Senate Democrats are cloaking these events occurring now from public view.

Sen. Chuck Schumer is directly to blame for this senatorial intransigence. He must step down soon for the good of our country.
I'm so pissed. King, Shaheen, and Hassan put this together behind our backs. And Kaine, Cortez-Masto, Fetterman, Rosen, and Durbin went along with it.
November 10, 2025 at 3:39 AM
Both sides are wrong.

I agree with most Democrats that funding healthcare is important.

The problem is that Sen. Schumer the old codger is putting the ineffectual people in front of this because they're trying to avoid the argument or simply wait out Trump until he changes his mind, yet again. /1

Here's something the whole world needs to understand:

This is NOT the US taxpayers' fault. The money is already there to pay US troops, fund SNAP benefits, fund Medicaid/Medicare..

This IS Trump's fault because he's an idiot with a net worth of $5B who wants to make others' lives a living hell. /1

What happened here? Shouldn't Democrats have taken that deal?

Health insurance issues in America run deep.

They run so deep that both Democratic and Republican politicians are directly complicit. It will take years to undo the fuckery around privatizing insurance

Any other country looking in would claim we have a representation problem: wapo.st/4qF92TF

We must expand the House of Representatives.

We needed to do this 20 years ago. The problem is that doing so requires a 2/3's majority in the House and Senate and abolishing the Reapportionment Act of 1929.
Voters broadly disapprove of Trump but remain divided on midterms, poll finds
Most Americans disapprove the president’s handling of top issues, and a majority say he has gone too far in exercising his powers.
