Hello folks! Apologies for the long time between posts. We have some new articles over on the blog - why don't you pop over, have a read of the three (I think!) new articles, and if you like what you see, subscribe? It's free!

A new post. Not as much fun as I would like. This one is about the algal bloom affecting the coast of South Australia.

Beachless Summer
I hope this will be enough to be a wake-up call for the climate-change sceptics, and a call for the non-sceptics to double-down on efforts to do something.

Another Far North Queensland swimming spot write-up. Come along and read, and subscribe if you feel like it.

There are more posts coming - FNQ has a lot of swimming spots on offer.

There weren't many other people there - only two small groups - and it felt pretty secluded and like you were part of a small secret club.

From tropical Far North Queensland, we have a new blog post. This is Mason's Swimming Hole in the Daintree Rainforest.

Mason's Swimming Hole
It's a very short walk from the cafe to the swimming hole. Past the blue tin asking for donations to swim in the swimming hole (you can also pay by card in the cafe or shop) on the little bridge over ...

It's been a while between posts, but here is a little writeup and a photo from a recent dip in the Quarry for the Winter Solstice.

Winter Solstice
It's usually a dreary affair, the shortest day of the year. Waterproof jackets, scarves, and beanies coordinated with matching rain, wind, and cold. In 2022 the part of Adelaide I was in achieved a ma...

We've headed to Slovenia in today's blog post! Fergus G has written a lovely piece about Lake Bohinj.

Lake Bohinj
The Slovenian tourist office likes to use a few strategically placed capital letters to emphasis the LOVE in Slovenia. After a visit to Lake Bohinj, it is easy see why.

It's so dry in South Australia. We're nearly 80% under our average rainfall at this time of year.

Which does give me the opportunity to look for possible swimming spots before they're swimming spots.

I've scheduled a post to go live over on wildlyswim.com on Tuesday morning (central Australian time). This one will be about swimming around the archipelago off the coast of Göteborg in #Sweden, and a bit about one of the islands.

Great White sharks have been spotted off Port Willunga recently, and a juvenile Great White has washed up on the beach in the last few days. Yikes.

When the wind blows just right, however, surfing becomes possible as the waves stand tall and break over the reefs that extend from Lions Head point.

New blog-post. The quarry: wildlyswim.com/the-quarry/

An A- grade swimming spot. (Would be A+ if it had less rubbish).
The Quarry
It's better to walk in. It's just under 5 km as a roundtrip with 150 metres of elevation. Bring your dogs.
