@kdc.bsky.social Act II was really good, but Act I definitely hits better and harder. For Good got me right in the feels, tears and all, again!

Rewatching Stranger Things and Steve being gal pal with Robin warms my cold heart...then El realizing Hopper is gone breaks it into a million.

Also, very few in small town, rural Midwest USA have good taste in movies at the Family Video. I speak from the horrific experience of working in one.

White Lotus, any and all popular reality TV, Sex & the City (my shunning is deep), Yellowstone, Rings of Power, The Witcher.
What's that one media you still haven't seen/played no matter what others say?

Karen Abbott's Sin in the Second City (Liar Temptress Soldier Spy and American Rose are also quite good)

In the Garden of the Beasts by Erik Larson

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

A Woman of No Importance by So is Purnell
Ok BlueSky: what are your favorite history books in terms of sheer page-turning, narrative propulsion? Thinking along the line of Killers of the Flower Moon, etc. Nonfiction chronicles that read like novels or movies.

Terrific song from Jesse Wells.
"I put a kid in cuffs and zip-tied a woman to a van.
We can sneak around town,
hunting working folks down.
I hear they they get a great benefit plan."

JiJi just shoved his whole self in Willow's space. Willow spends a moment looking incensed then accepts it as her lot in life.

Listening to mellow classic rock on Sirius XM The Bridge while reading 'Hang the Moon' by Jeannette Walls has put me into winter hiber-cozy mode.

I like to write, but would never say I'm good at it. And my ADHD brain can really immerse itself in some seriously tangential, metaphoric, and flowery prose. Yet I don't think my worst efforts have ever come off ... like this. Is there such a thing as bewilderment writing?
I should not do this to myself. I should look away. I should scroll by. I should log off.

And yet…
oh my god you have to read this until the end www.telos.news/p/part-1-how...

Someone on a true crime doc I'm watching just called Slayer a death metal band. I just don't see them as death metal, just heavy, possibly thrash, metal.

I don't care how close. It was a masterpiece of stunning visuals, stellar acting, and a heady elevation of romance over horror. I'm bummed I didn't see it in a theatre!

My body had to show me how much it needs rest after a couple days of serious peopling. It did so via a 6.5 hour nap today.

I've really been leaning into harnessing peace lately. This morning sipping coffee, nibbling a scone, journaling, and feeling the comforting weight and steady, light snoring rhythm of Willow Miss Kitty Fantastico on my lap was a moment of complete peace and contentment.
