And another special creature released 😍

This brown long-eared bat was found during the day in a grounded state and taken to The Beck Veterinary Practice, Whitby last week. It was a little weak so came to us for some short-term rehab and after a few days it was ready to go for release

Absolutely delighted with this pheasant chick. Arrived earlier in the week , found alone , struggling to walk, one leg pointing backwards and generally not interested in life. After a few days of care, he's now walking and eating on his own 😍

Update on Saturn!

Saturn is still on recovery food and oralade daily. He is miles better than he was but he is still weak . We had hoped to reunite him with his family but the longer he is needing supportive care , the less those chances :(

Elvis is here with an important message: Foxes are not pets.

We've had several reports from concerned members of the public recently of fox cubs in two different rescue centres, not equipped nor experienced with foxes, being kept inappropriately.

Please do your checks before handing over a fox.

Only possible thanks to your donations and our incredible volunteers #VolunteersWeek
🦇The National Bat Helpline is officially in its peak season and, therefore, operating an Out of Hours service for emergency bat care and crime calls only.

As well as our normal weekday service, our volunteers will also answer calls from 6pm - 10pm and from 10am-10pm on weekends and bank holidays.

We don’t know how many calls we have received this season about orphaned rabbits. Accidentally disturbed nests - dogs, building work and gardening being the top reasons.

Many rescues again today including Brooke the badger, found in a local barn in a hungry state early this afternoon.

Under assessment, she has been given fluids, fed and treated for parasites.

2.5 weeks later :)

JKR Plastering & Roofing Services contacted us for advice after they found a starling nest . We advised they halt work and the starlings would likely fledge in a couple of weeks. They followed all instructions. The babies have now flown the nest.

How it should be done ✔️
