Seems like they had a source in the chat & not that they’re able to hack into signal or get the records via warrant. Important distinction for organizers & guardian article should’ve made it more clear.

They are spying ON ORGANIZERS, not just the signal chat. Understand how they will come after you
WHOA. The FBI was/is spying on a Signal chat for a New York immigration court watch group, claiming they were “anarchist violent extremist actors.”

Your reminder that the government is watching and don’t say anything in a big group chat you wouldn’t say on TV.

I like how full text search of every book and human thought ever was a SOLVED PROBLEM in 2001, and now dicks at search engines and my own phone – a piece of silicon faster to respond than God was ever imagined in scripture – prevent it from working, _as a retroactive infantilizing design choice_.

I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

I've always hated the taste of protein shakes. Which is weird, because I love licking spent shell casings
my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

This is dangerous territory. The state trying to argue they get to decide who's a "real" journalist is how you end up with only fascist propagandists with cameras.
Govt. attorney wants language added to the TRO giving feds the ability to disperse an entire crowd, incl. journalists.

He cites people possibly "impersonating" journalists to cause chaos.

Plaintiff attys claim this could threaten journalistic purpose, i.e., to act as "the eyes" of a community.

Weird that our right wing DA won’t charge right wing protestors.

Everyone saw the video of him pushing a woman. Not much question about what happened.

Great signal to send to all these other outside agitators who are gearing up to come into Portland.

I appreciate Ernst Fraenkel’s concept of the “dual state,” wherein a fascist regime (in his example, the Nazis) will observe set rules and regulations when confronting some actors—what he calls the “normative state”—and will use arbitrary, unchecked violence towards others—the “prerogative state.”
If we were living under fascism, none of you would be here daring to post things. You'd be erasing your social media accounts and keeping your head down; you'd know that peacocking your faux-bravery on a network would expose you to being disappeared.
You have no idea what "fascism" really means.
the regime is zip tying toddlers and ripping them away from their mothers unclothed... calling it fascism upsets this neo-con.
