Once the Veterans Day cold snap ends, South MS's pattern will flip back to a more typical mild fall-like feel with no more freezes. Don't plan on any more cold snaps through mid-month. #mswx

Typically, South MS doesn't see widespread pipe issues unless the temps drop into the mid 20s or colder for more than 3-6 hours. While South MS temps could actually reach the mid 20s, I don't think it will stay that way for long enough to damage exposed pipes. Protect your pipes anyway just in case.
❄️🚨Warning: Outdoor plants in South MS may be damaged / killed by the cold conditions expected. Protect people, pets, & plants before a duration of 6 to 8 hours of freezing temps arrive overnight tonight. #mswx

I think that it's likely that our Freeze Watch will be upgraded to a Freeze Warning. Once that happens, it's important to make sure that protections have been put into place for the "cold weather P's." #mswx
