She is temptation incarnate. “What creamy treat do you desire, love?” he purrs in her ear. “I eagerly await the opportunity to watch you get your tongue around one of these flavors.” “Behave.” She glares, but there’s a smile playing on the edges of her mouth. “Where is the fun in that?” “May I help you?” An employee is behind the counter, ready to take their order. Lucifer looks to Chloe, motioning for her start. “I’ll have the mango madness. A small cup.” “She meant large.” He smiles charmingly at the employee. “And I’ll have a large chocolate caramel swirl.” “Large?” She frowns at him “I can’t eat all that.” “I’ll happily eat yours whenever and wherever you wish.” He deliberately gives her a slow once over, making sure his double meaning isn’t missed.

Lucifer in Devil form Chloe kneels at Lucifer’s side as he sits on the bed, his back to the headboard. He is quiet, contained, and entirely unLucifer-like. No fidgeting. No off-color remarks. No chattering to fill the silence. Instead nerves are rolling off of him in waves. Not his usual mood when they are in bed naked together. She knows she needs to get on with this, because every minute of watching him wind himself up with the fear she will reject him, is breaking her heart all over again. She lifts herself onto her knees, tenderly cradling his face as she kisses his forehead. “Wings out,” she whispers. With a rustle and a shift in the air, they appear. He stretches them out until they are fully extended. The feathers flutter gently. She glides her hands along them. He makes a small noise, as though he wants to relax, to enjoy her touch, but cannot. Without prompting, he lifts his arms, crossing his wrists above him. She gathers the chains he had attached to the ceiling and—with a combination of chains and straps—ties his hands together. She checks as she works to make sure she can fit a few fingers between his hands and the restraints. She wants them looser than usual. Finally, she’s happy with them and nods with satisfaction.

Tom Ellis Shirtless Sipping her coffee, hair still mussed from sleep, Chloe idly runs her fingers over the books in Lucifer’s library—Hamlet, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Thus Spake Zarathustra. On a whim, she pulls out a copy of The Count of Monte Cristo. First edition, of course. Signed by the author, of course. She doesn’t know if she’ll ever get used to it. She turns the page—it’s in French—and some loose papers flutter out. Oops. Crouching, she scoops them off the floor, but they aren’t parts of the book or related notes. They are photographs. They are photographs of Lucifer. A photo shoot. She leafs through them. The first few are of him in a sleek suit, jacket hanging off his arms or gone, shirt mostly unbuttoned, and a tie loosely slung around his neck. He looks like temptation—like he just had sex with the photographer, is about to, or both. And, yeah, that tracks. She can’t make out much of the room—it’s too dark—but there’s a small table with a bottle of scotch, a glass, and a cigarette, the smoke winding upward. One side of his mouth quirks up into a dangerous smile, inviting her in. Heat pools between her legs. The penthouse feels much too warm all of a sudden. Chloe takes another sip of her coffee. Should she go find him right now? She is pivoting when she catches a glimpse of the other photos. Carefully placing her cup on a nearby table, she pulls them out of the pile. There are three photographs of him with a classic convertible, but she couldn’t have described anything else about the car or its surroundings if her life depended on it. Because Lucifer is no longer in a suit, half undone or otherwise, but in skin tight, lace-up leather pants, boots, a collar, and nothing else. The pants are low-slung, barely covering him. There is a visible stripe of skin from the tops of his boots to his waist.

Lucifer and Chloe Kissing Chloe is not someone who fidgets. She’s calm, focused, and generally has no trouble concentrating. Tonight, though? She fidgets. She paces. She fusses over organizing her shelves. She makes lists, since they tend to soothe her. But nothing makes the time go any faster. She ran out of anything useful to do an hour ago. Every minute since has felt like torture. The house is tidy. She rearranged the living room for the tree. Trixie is in bed—bathed, stories read, water fetched. Nothing on tv is holding her attention. Not even work can hold her focus tonight. While the anticipation of a planned date—a date! she has a date with the devil!—is part of it, there is something about the lack of control which puts her on edge. Whatever is going with her visits to Hell, it is something she doesn’t understand. Yes, it seems she can decide whether to go and has some control over when, but she can’t decide when to leave. And okay, she might be a little frustrated from her last visit. All she knows is never has time moved more slowly. She does all her fidgeting in the light of the star. While Chloe now knows it’s the key to the dreams she wants, she also hoped it would calm her, as it has in the past, and help her relax. Tonight it reminds her of Lucifer and the reason she is gradually going mad. Her sympathy with him increases ten-fold as each minute ticks by. She can’t imagine being confined to a place where time is meaningless and unending. Chloe could go to bed now, she knows, but doesn't want to arrive too early. Last time she almost walked into a loop, and she doesn't want to repeat the experience. Finally, it’s ten. She can go upstairs to get ready. She pulls out the dark red pajama set she decided on for the night. A sleep shirt comes out of the drawer with it, falling to the floor. Chloe retrieves it. It’s short sleeved, cotton, reaches mid-thigh, with a scoop neck. Not something she would call sexy, but closer than she was planning.
