Elvira Mujkanovic lived in Trnopolje when the Bosnian Serb Army turned her entire village into an interrogation camp.
Elvira’s story inspired Robert McNeil, our Chair, to paint this picture. Elvira's now-husband was incarcerated in the infamous Omarska camp (shown in the background of the painting).

The evidence is being gathered for the ongoing court proceedings but meanwhile the word “genocide” itself is under erasure and subject to a major destabilisation campaign, to place it out of use, by the State of Israel, her leaders and her allies.

#OTD in 1996, Sarajevo’s Grbavica neighbourhood was reintegrated after four years under the control of the Army of Republika Srpska. Its residents endured unimaginable terror and violence. We must remember the war crimes committed against these innocent civilians and honour their resilience.
