The most relevant piece of information here is the R which Senator Murkowski keeps next to her name. She and three other Senators could take full control of the government out of the hands of the organization she herself describes as using terror tactics.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R): "We are all afraid…I am oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice because retaliation is real."

My federal agency is offering a second round of the deferred resignation. I am very tired and worried about finding work in 5 or 6 months of a bad economy. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I am thinking of taking it.

Greenland and Panama may want to talk to some Signal employees as a part of their defense efforts.

1/🧵 Judges across ideological lines are ruling against Trump at strikingly similar rates (84% liberal, 86% centrist, 82% conservative). This isn't partisan opposition to Trump—it's the judiciary functioning as intended by cutting across partisan lines to uphold the Constitution.

Just to answer some of your questions: We are asking Senate Democrats to vote NO on cloture without a path to winning a clean 30-day continuing resolution.

Cloture requires 60 votes, so the Senate GOP will need Democratic support. Urge your senators to hold the line. 👇

This is an abject lie. One easily disproven by OPM documentation. How they found DOJ attorneys willing to put forward this argument is beyond me. Bar Complaints should be considered.
OPM tells court it never ordered mass firings, contradicting prior claims
The Trump administration is arguing in court that agencies acted on their own to fire probationary staff, but it previously sent a government directive with a deadline for the firings.

There are so many contradictions in what employees are being told about how to respond to Elon’s email that whatever the intended outcome, most of it would be useless before a 3rd party if misconduct actions are attempted

Lawyers… hold on as long as you can.
For Donald Trump, the resignations are the point
The more government lawyers who quit over their own scruples, the better for him

Hearing from VA legal employees that they had an emergency roll call this morning to see who had been fired. Management was not told which of their probationary employees would be fired.

I skipped concert tickets for one of my favorite bands recently due to high prices and absurd wait times…but I would pay a lot to see (and record this). (Borowitz is satire).
Trump declared on Truth Social, “I will soon be announcing a new roster of ballerinas, with an amazing principal ballerina, DONALD J. TRUMP.”

He doesn’t see JD Vance as his successor because he cannot conceive of giving up power to ANYONE.
Baier: Do you view JD Vance as your successor?

Trump: No

I have worked in employment law and in health law. When Republicans say people need to get off Medicaid and get to work, they are reversing causation. For many, the biggest barrier to working is their health. The argument is utter nonsense.

People rightly get frustrated when they try to contact agencies and have trouble reaching someone. But there are reasons for that outside of inefficiency. If you are frustrated by automated systems the only alternative is to increase the # of people who can respond to you.
a look at the federal workforce size since the 1940s:
February 6, 2025 at 10:34 PM
While this is on pause, if you received a copy of the deferred resignation agreement and you are over 40, keep in mind two provisions directly contradict the deadlines as well. ADEA and OWBPA give you 45 days after receipt to review and consider …and 7 days to revoke after signing.
NEW: Just hours before federal workers had to decide on the Trump administration’s “Fork in the Road” buyout offer, a Massachusetts federal judge temporarily halted the program until at least next Monday to hold another hearing.

Conservative budget wonks (Manhattan Instiutte, Tax Foundation) confirming that this is a consittutional crisis. Not liberal hysteria. Happening right now.

The second to last paragraph (re:Mars) is self indulgent and undermines the seriousness of the issue. Nevertheless, I am glad to see an ALJ speak out against a clear effort to “chill” employees from using their EEO rights.
An EEOC admin. judge sent a fiery all-department email this AM alleging:
1. Trump's exec orders & instructions to target private citizens with them are illegal.
2. the judge had sent an earlier email with a similar tone yesterday that later vanished from their sent folder & colleagues' inboxes.
