The attacks on trans rights, which are basic human rights, are a terrible injustice and an attack on truth and fact as well. Everyone should be deeply alarmed and it should be disqualifying for a politician to support such discrimination.

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Another point-and-click adventure game, this one was developed by Revolution Games and originally released in 1996, although I played the recent Reforged version. It deals with an international conspiracy based on a mysterious society from actual history, the Knights Templar. George Stobbart (pronounced with a long O) is an American tourist who, while visiting Paris, sees an accordion-playing clown bomb a cafe. Trying to figure out what happened has George following clues to Ireland, Scotland, Spain, and Syria. I guess there's a bit of Carmen Sandiego in its design.

I Can’t Wait ‘Til the Future Gets Here
While the previous Hulu seasons were released one week at a time, this one was dropped all at once. It was also around when there was a push for people to cancel Hulu because of Disney caving to Trump in canceling Jimmy Kimmel. I doubt there was a connection, but it was weird timing. I kind of liked one being released per week, but since we didn't get around to watching any of them until about a month later, it ended up not making much difference. Destroy Tall Monsters - This kind of feels like a more fleshed-out rehash of the first Anthology of Interest segment, with Bender becoming gigantic and fighting another huge monster in a Godzilla-style city-crushing montage.

Pediatricians say vaccines do not cause autism. A bear-eating heroin addict who fantasizes about sucking his own semen out of his lovers' orifices says they do. For busy parents, it can be hard to know who to trust.

The Drinking Fairy’s Diet
Leprechauns are omnipresent at this time of year, despite the fact that they don't really have anything to do with St. Patrick per se. I think it's mostly just that they're of Irish origin and look good on decorations and greeting cards. Really, since the conversion of Ireland to Christianity resulted in the fairy folk being demoted from minor deities to breakfast cereal mascots, they might not be too fond of the old saint. It's enough to drive a fairy to drink. And that brings us to today's mythological topic, the Clurichaun.

The Accidental Torin

Torin's Passage - I don't know that I'd even heard of this game until fairly recently, but it's a Sierra adventure game created by Al Lowe. He's the same guy who was in charge of the Leisure Suit Larry games, and while I've never played any of them, I know they have a…

Torin's Passage - I don't know that I'd even heard of this game until fairly recently, but it's a Sierra adventure game created by Al Lowe. He's the same guy who was in charge of the Leisure Suit Larry games, and while I've never played any of them, I know they have a reputation for being raunchy. This one is more of a fairy tale with a boy protagonist and a style similar to King's Quest VII, with cartoony graphics, silly characters with comic dialogue, and a lot of slapstick.

The AI Doomsayer and The AI Hype Man are the same person. Spreading fear of AI is just another way of tricking people into believing chatbots are more capable than they actually are.

LLM chatbots won’t evolve into AGI. Anyone with a fundamental understanding of how they work knows that.

I'm not saying it's not true that staring at phone screens makes people less likely to engage with the world around them, just that I, personally, was usually staring at a book or lost in my own thoughts back before phone screens were a thing.

Beagle - This is billed as two novellas from the world of The Last Unicorn, although it's really more like a short story and a novella, I'd say. It's been a while since I read Unicorn, and I wish I remembered it better, but it's still nice to see its characters again.

It really shouldn't come as a big surprise given how often they accuse any movements in the left of being paid actors or bots or whatever. The right thinks the masses are stupid with no mind of their own, and everything they do must come from a top-down project from rich leaders
Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

Karl is not incorrect. Watching the media discuss DOGE and what they did as if it was normal then made too much room on all the cable news shows to discuss DOGE with round tables and punditry instead of being like, "the American people deserve to know what this is, what it does, and who runs it."
DOGE was always a very thinly disguised con to dress up data theft and extraction class destruction of federal corporate oversight as innovative, and it's important to remember that part of the reason it worked so well is that the press helped legitimize it
hey don't be so hard on yourselves; it delivered oceans of sensitive government and citizen data to billionaires
