That AI is optional (as of now) means that former Affinity is still full of it, it just gives you an option to pretend it is not here.
Affinity should not get a free pass just because it is pretends it is still good.
If it was still good it didn't have to rely on AI crap.

Of course my contribution (*) to the language that specifically aims to be positive and minimalistic is to define a new word for a negative feeling.
(kata, which to me now means 'fatigue', 'tiredness')
I wish such personal word would mean something nicer but alas.

Just seems nonsensical to mock the aesthetic idea of a sensitive, feminine, progressive man instead of judging a man by his actions. There's a reason the "anti-performative-male" response just means replicating the manosphere aesthetic.

My Monday-or-Wedn. game is on hiatus for a while, and I am catching myself on the impulse to start another one: something low-preparation and a bit cheesy, such as a novice band of glam-rockers trying to get through the dungeon* to get a Big Deal if they manage to actially perform for Dread Lord.

(Just realized I will have to make "We have 'Planescape' boxed set at home" because barring some kind of miracle I'd never be able to afford the original (AD&D one) in nice conditions.
There will be a time to glue some boxes then.)

Two of my favourite settings (the original 'Planescape' for AD&D 2nd ed., and 'Malfeas' for Exalted 2nd edition) both started as more broad strokes places, less detailed but vibrant, and refined years later. I've read settings _designed_ to be esoteric and strange, and I rarely even remember them.

How to make your megadungeon feel like dark souls step 1: make a roster of extremely weird fucked up knights with a strong visual themes matched to their tragic backstories and scatter them around the dungeon
Step 2: refuse to elaborate when asked about them.

Unrelated to anything but watercolours: still upset that Kremer New York shop closed last month. Now it is only the international delivery and everything is in euros (i.e. about twice as expenseive.) Their Satingold is the best metallic watercolour gold I ever used.
