Used to sell yarn. Then I sold bikes. Now I just sling coffee, knit, and try to stay sane.

Stupid shit I do with my family cargo bike 😆 (do we do hashtags here? #quaxing, yeah?)

Ok, but: Smith and Ford are both trying to limit health care in direct or indirect ways, UPC’s have brought up abortion bans, and both premiers absolutely refuse to protect the earth.

We aren’t better, Canada. We are also failing to make our governments work for us and not megacorps.
I'll just leave this here. Credit free Radio Canada.

I know this might come as a shock to you, it always does to you people, but making your entire social media presence revolve so heavily around "orange man bad" that you are berating people from, just to repeat myself, OTHER COUNTRIES about daring to post anything but "orange man bad" is bad for you.

A great thread and applicable to my industry. Friends in the biz ask why I don't want to use AI to shotlist or draft ideas. Because that is *what* I love; the maddening, mysterious, staring into space or the blank page and connecting to creative ideas from the ether. That's the whole f'ing thing.
I’m still thinking about this and it really is one of those “everyone thinks Elon Musk is a genius until he gets involved in your field” moments. I’m gonna be a total bore and think about this seriously, please don’t read on if you don’t care what a landscape architect thinks about this shit… 1/?

Buy from small businesses
Buy from independent creators
Buy passion projects
Buy commissions
Buy art

In a society that's decided that money is final word, be aware of where yours goes and to support what

Yes it sucks, I don't like it either, but pretending it's not a thing does not help!

My family complimented me on my Free Label pants yesterday and I love them! Buy Canadian when you can folks! These small businesses need our support now more than ever (watching them shutter has been crushing)…

The numbers in here are hilarious.

Do you use AI on the job?
Execs: 87%
Managers: 57%
Workers: 27%

Planned investment by 2030: $5T
"Necessary" annual revenue to justify that spend: $650B
Current annual revenue: $50B
Three years into the generative-AI wave, demand for the technology seems surprisingly flimsy
Investors expect AI use to soar. That’s not happening
Recent surveys point to flatlining business adoption

Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

My children were really young and small enough that we could still play indoors, and we did, a lot! We rolled a ball back a forth, or balloons, learned new songs “playing” Just Dance, used blankets as a hammock between parents, and jumped on the bed (supervised; and just the kids haha!)
What's a charming memory you have from the worst period of the pandemic?

Unrelated to anything right now, I’m happy to report that I discovered MUCH bike parking at the newly refurbished plaza at NE corner of Baseline and Wellington #ldnont #ldnontbike. Not perfect, but plentiful. One wave rack was even installed correctly to allow bikes on both sides!!
November 29, 2025 at 12:29 AM
Funny how this looks like the same plaza all over the GTA, Ontario, as well as much of southwestern Ontario I’m sure. Isnt it great that you can go all over North America and shop at the same dozen stores?! 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️.
#BlackFridayParking at Bellevue One in Nashville. Supposedly the one day a year that the shops would need all this mandated parking, and it's still massively overbuilt.
