If you call me, someone better have died. Otherwise i can’t think of a single reason you’d be calling me instead of texting me. Or if you’re going to call, text me first and tell me what it’s about. Otherwise i’m sending you to voicemail

Overheard someone doing an interview and they opened with “tell me something i won’t find on your resume.” Honestly a really good question. So much of resumes are bullshit. People lie, they get AI to write to so it sounds good. The face to face is when you actually figure out, ‘will they be good?’

NEW: For over a year, the Israeli government has deliberately denied Palestinians in Gaza the minimum water needed for survival, most likely resulting in thousands of deaths.

A calculated policy.

An act of genocide. 🧵⤵️

NYU banning student protestors from a building that houses a legendary archive of the history of radical protest is almost like hiring a journalist who covers policing in New York City and penalizing him for covering policing in New York City...

NYU Bans Its Own Journalism Professor From Multiple Buildings After He Documented a Pro-Palestine Protest
We spoke with NYU journalism professor Chenjerai Kumanyika about how the school's intensified campus policing strategy might be doing Donald Trump's work for him.

Hell Gate is on the scene at the protest of Amazon union members at the distribution center in Maspeth.

Just moments ago, NYPD officers pulled an Amazon worker out of his car after he stood up out of his seat and attempted to join the strike.

I’ve been talking about moving out of the US all year. Very seriously. My entire goals for 2025 is to set myself up to be able to do it.

Turns out i’m not alone.

I’m normally a kind of ‘put the tree up on November 1st’ kinda guy. All about the Christmas vibes. Blasting my Punk Goes Christmas playlist, watching all the cheesy Christmas RomComs. This year? I’m barely scraping by and can’t afford many gifts for the family. I just don’t feel very merry this year

It really is about ‘who you know.’ Of the 4 real jobs i’ve worked out of college the last 2 i got largely based on knowing someone. My dad went to his HS reunion and one of his former classmates told him about an opportunity somewhere and she introduced me to the owner and that’s how i got that job.

I had a friend who used to work at a college. Like an accredited university. And he was fired on-site one day and security walked him to his car. No reason was ever given. No advance notice. He was out of work for the better part of a year. Employers just tell you to ‘figure it out.’ That’s why i’ve
