tech went downhill the day they stopped including headphone jacks and disc drives in hardware. everything requires updates out of the box. nothing feels like it has personality anymore even if you doll up a smartphone it still lacks the styles of the early to mid 2000s. we plateaued and got boring.

my friend bought a Wii U at launch as their first nintendo console and they heavily regretted their purchase and I think it legitimately made them hate nintendo forever. never bought a switch because of how much the Wii U sucked
It took 7 months for a new first party game to release after launch and it was Game & Wario

I’m only 3-4 hours into Metroid prime 4 and i do have some criticisms but overall I’m enjoying it. I do think the copious amount of hate this game is getting is way overstated with many jumping on hating it without actually playing it and only seeing rage engagement posts on twitter.

Pikmin collab was great (except for the yellow pikmin tamago) but god I need to go to kura soon… though I’m so broke lmfao
The Kirby X Kura Sushi collaboration will feature special Kirby-themed plate trays on the conveyor belt! It has also been confirmed that the collaboration will run until January 31st! 🍣

I enjoyed smiling friends s1 and s2 but absolutely hated s3, it felt like it went more mean spirited than usual and it started leaning more into the “adult animation comedy” writing that I just don’t enjoy. There were a few episodes I did like but so many episodes ended with a character going “ok…”

Finished the true ending of Kirby air riders during the weekend and also got all the characters unlocked too. Incredibly fun game and got a chance to play 4 player local co-op this weekend with some friends. This should’ve been the Switch 2 launch game along with DK bananza

it’s funny how companies are really pushing ai in production and especially in advertising but when the product has a label marked “made with ai” these CEO’s get upset almost like it’s labeling it for the garbage it is

I think a goal of mine for 2026 is to spend even less on games. I think this year I mostly spent on hardware (switch 2 being the biggest purchase) but i think buying games day one at full price is something i really can’t afford anymore. game prices go up and so does rent. time to let go of fomo
