Ruby Central has opened board applications for next year: rubycentral.teamtailor.com/jobs/6723164...

I’ll be rolling off the board to have another baby and stuff, so I’d really love if you’d apply and/or share this with anyone who’s interested in being involved.

I had a long commute today and have some movie musical hot takes to share.

First, movie musicals that are underrated:
West Side Story (2021)
The Phantom of the Opera (2024)

headline in my inbox: "The War on Tylenol". Except that it isn't? It's a eugenicist war on pregnant people, blaming them and their medical caregivers for autism, which the eugenicists regard as a fate worse than death. Focusing on Tylenol hides that fact.

One thing conservatives are gonna do is they’re gonna make sure pregnant people are suffering as much as possible—because, of course, they hate women and want them to suffer!

hey so tylenol is the only pain reliever considered safe during pregnancy so by saying pregnant folks shouldn’t take it (in addition to being based on dubious research) is essentially just telling them they can’t have pain relief

Hi folks, I am the president of the Ruby Central board. I don’t have time to reply to posts individually, but I do want to make clear that recent changes to permissions in our open source projects were done in collaboration with the organization’s leadership and not by one person unilaterally 🧵

An update in the case of a 21-yr-old Kentucky student charged with ‘abuse of a corpse’: The county coroner declined to answer whether the 'infant' in question was full-term despite confirming they have this info, and specified that 'infant' sometimes refers to fetuses:

REPORTER: The president is revamping the Rose Garden for a second time, he's spending billions of dollars to overhaul a 747 that will be used for Air Force 1 for possibly a year. Are you concerned about that spending too?

I mostly stay out of the AI discourse, but its invasion of wholesome hobbies really makes me sad. Every day in one of my embroidery groups someone gets duped by a weird AI-generated pattern for sale on Etsy.
