Just so you know...because, well, the world is still scary, you can still get the following scary diseases here in the U.S:

1) Leprosy. Armadillos are a natural reservoir for it.
2) Bubonic Plague: Alive and well in the SW.
3) Anthrax: Naturally occurring in the soil everywhere.
