On June 14—Flag Day—Donald Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. ...

Chris Coons: "He's not listening to concerns about lowering costs. Instead he's worried about decorating his new Marie Antoinette ballroom or engaging in trying to figure out how to get his name on more statues and stadiums, or he's sitting across the table in the Oval Office with authoritarians."

it is darkly humorous that after all these years, the Republican health insurance plan ends up being to end health insurance
Trump: "I am recommending to Senate Republicans that the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars currently being sent to money sucking Insurance Companies in order to save the bad Healthcare provided by ObamaCare, BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN PURCHASE THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE."

This is, unsurprisingly, nonsensical. Is he suggesting eliminating health insurance and giving people a few thousand dollars instead? And then when they get a cancer diagnosis they just go bankrupt?

He is so unserious. That's why we are shut down and Americans know it.

If I were to defy a court order, I'd be in jail, not building a ballroom.

Reopen government, swear in Adelita Grivala, release the Epstein Files, restore healthcare subsidies, and fund SNAP.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro wasted our money pursuing sandwich thrower

To establish a forcible assault, jurors were required to find that Dunn caused “reasonable apprehension of immediate bodily harm.” That allegation was laughable.
Opinion | The sandwich thrower was wrong. But Jeanine Pirro was, too.

$40B of your money to this guy, so he can dance at CPAC at Mar-a-Lago while Americans wait for their paychecks, hoping the money actually comes.

211 is a national hotline number that refers people to service providers-including for SNAP benefits

Since Trump refused to fund the program, calls to the number have QUADRUPLED

And while millions of Americans are desperate to feed their families

Trump is throwing lavish parties at Mar-a-Lago

#Elections

If Elon indeed becomes the first trillionaire, can you imagine how many more elections he can meddle with?

His vote is as valuable as yours or mine, but his influence will have no match.

Do you think that’s ok?

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 94th day out of the last 106.

12 days of work in 106 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

“US layoffs for October surge to two-decade high.”

“COST-CUTTING was the top reason for the layoffs in October, …

followed by Artificial Intelligence, …

while "DOGE Impact" was the leading reason for job cuts in 2025.”

Trump claims prices have gone down. 🤥

Here’s a peek at reality:

The average price for a new car surpasses $50,000 for the first time in U.S. History.

• @POTUS Trump stated multiple times over the years that shutdowns reflect a President’s lack of leadership.

• More Americans consider Republicans are responsible for the government shutdown.

It showed on November 4th.

Trump acknowledged it.

it's time for journos to start asking Johnson meta questions

"Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"

And again, a pattern of putting out statements accusing people of serious Federal crimes and then releasing them hours or days or weeks later with no charges. And no retraction.
NEWS: Federal agents crashed with woman’s car, pointed guns at her, dragged her out by legs, tossed her in a minivan, held her and (eventually) let her go without charges. This as Chicagoans say the immigration blitz is out of control. (DHS blames her.)
