Oof. Both the 12v and 5v rails are short on the power supply. Hope it didn't do too much damage when it died. Looks like I'm going to have to dig way deeper than I expected into this old IBM.

Wow, that's a nice surprise! Look at that beautiful gold lidded ceramic Intel C8087 math coprocessor, with an IBM stamp! And the original owner of this IBM 5160 even swapped out the standard Intel 8086 for an AMD 8088 too!

Bad news: looks like the floppy controller card in my new IBM 5160 is short on +5VDC. Pins B3 and B29 go straight to ground.

Took the lid off the 5160, looks like it has a good assortment of cards. Western Digital disk controller, Atronics EGA card, Precision IO card, and the standard floppy controller. Surprisingly clean in here, despite the terrible cable management.

Was given an IBM PC 5160 at work today... This thing is older than I am! Looks like it is in fair condition, but has had some upgrades. It has a slim 5.25" and 3.5" floppy instead of the original full height 5.25" floppy drive. Missing some screws, just like me.
